Inspections and Violations Summary
What it is:
The Inspections and Violations Summary section highlights your history of inspections, violations, and out-of-service rates.
What you’ll see:
- Inspection breakdown: number of clean inspections compared to those with violations
- Violations broken down by the impacted BASIC category
- Out-of-Service Rates for vehicles, drivers, and Hazardous Materials
- Recent Inspections and Violations
Why it matters:
Your inspection, violation, and out-of-service (OOS) metrics tell the real story of your safety performance. Every roadside inspection — and every violation recorded — feeds directly into your FMCSA BASIC scores and risk profile. High violation counts or OOS rates can quickly put you above FMCSA’s national thresholds, flagging you for intervention or audit.
By tracking:
- Inspection breakdowns, you can see which types of inspections happen most often and where you’re most at risk.
- Violations by BASIC, you can pinpoint exactly which compliance categories are impacting your scores.
- OOS percentages, you can measure how your performance stacks up to FMCSA’s benchmarks — and take action before small problems escalate.
Staying on top of these numbers means fewer surprises from regulators and more control over your safety record.
